Who are we?
Life of P.I. started as a team of four master’s students in the developmental and stem cell major.
Over the last years our organizing team changed and expanded. Like in the years before our group contains bachelor’s students from the biosciences track and master’s students from four molecular biosciences majors. This year 7 people worked continuously to put this event series together since the end of last year. It started with deciding this year’s lineup, then reaching out to and booking the speakers - an effort which involved the entire team. Foivi and Kim spearheaded our successful application for almost 1.400€ in QSM funding. QSM funds (Qualitätssicherungsmittel) are provided to universities in Baden-Württemberg, where students can submit proposals to finance non-mandatory educational events for their university’s student body. We used our funds for advertising and inviting external speakers. Regarding the former, Johanna designed this year’s beautiful poster and created the designs for our announcement posts. Robert organized the logistics of printing our merch and posters. This website that was built by Luna already for season 1 is being maintained and updated by Foivi. Lena, Kim and Caden managed travel and accommodation arrangements for our external speakers. Our Instagram account are under Amélie and Lena's diligent management. Announcements and room bookings were taken care of by Robert and Foivi. Each member of the team is chairing their speakers themselves.
We are very proud of what we accomplished and are grateful for the great speakers that we were able to invite and of course for every single person that joined the talks!
