Who are we?
Life of P.I. started as a team of four master’s students in the developmental and stem cell major. By the second instalment, our team expanded to ten members, consisting of bachelor’s students from the biosciences track and master’s students from three molecular biosciences majors. This year’s organizing team grew to 13 bachelor’s and master’s students who have worked continuously to put this event series together since the end of last year. It started with deciding this year’s lineup, then reaching out to and booking the speakers - an effort which involved the entire team. Foivi spearheaded our successful application for almost 4000€ in QSM funding. QSM funds (Qualitätssicherungsmittel) are provided to universities in Baden-Württemberg, where students can submit proposals to finance non-mandatory educational events for their university’s student body. We used our funds for advertising and inviting external speakers. Regarding the former, Celina designed this year’s beautiful poster. Ana created the designs for our announcement posts. Robert and Foivi organized the logistics of printing our merch and posters. This website was built by Luna and is being maintained by Rebecca. Foivi, Celina, Luna, and Edwyn made the travel and accommodation arrangements for our external speakers. Our Instagram and Bluesky accounts are under Aditi and Ana’s diligent management. Announcements and room bookings were taken care of by Margaux, Robert, and Rebecca. The events will be chaired by Foivi, Robert, Celina, Duru, Krith, Ramiro, Edwyn, and Luna. Wendelin is our official photographer.
